Twikini on a Palm Treo Pro

by Paul on 15 June 2009

For a while now I’ve been using Twitter and found that the communication and productivity benefits have been amazing.

There have been a few issues and mistakes I’ve found along the way, the main two have been:

I followed too many people.

This was fine while using Tweetdeck on the PC as I just added my real favourites to a special column, but on my mobile, twitter was useless as there was too much noise for it to make sense.

So the other day, I had a big spring clean and cut down the people I was following from over 800 to about 50.

Mobile Twitter too Clunky

That allowed me to use twitter sensibly on my mobile, a Palm Treo Pro using Windows Mobile 6… or at least I thought.  Well, actually the mobile twitter interface was too clunky so although the noise to signal ratio had been reduced to a reasonable level, usage via the mobile was still not elegant enough.

So recently I did a bit of a search and came across a little program called Twikini

The tweet screen looks like this.

Twikini03

It’s really quite cool and has made use of twitter on the mobile much easier.  It has one click replies, one click re-tweets and you can access others profiles very easily too.

This looks like a keeper, even though it’s not a free program.
