By now you’ll be highly aware that my absolute favourite productivity tool is eProductivity. I’ve blogged about it a lot already and I’ll blog about it a lot in the future.
However, it’s by no means the only tool I use, so I felt it was time I did a bit of a series on tools that help with productivity. As with all things, lines are blurred and some of the things I’ll post on are likely to be about other aspects as well as productivity, so I beg your indulgence right at the outset.
In no particular order let’s make a start then…
Folder Menu
How many times have you wished you could open a particular folder without having to go through the full menu structure?
I know tools like Activewords, (which I use extensively), allow for shortcuts however the big advantage of Folder Menu is that it also works with Windows “Open File” and “Save File” dialogue boxes.
Folder Menu is written in AutoHotKey, which is also one of my favourite tools. As it’s not a program as such, (it’s a simple programming language that allows for amazing little, and not so little programs to be written by us amateurs), I won’t do a specific write up on it.
Folder Menu is a tiny file that is a portable executable file so it even works on my “locked down” system. The first time you run the executable it produces a default configuration file and puts a tray icon in your tool bar. There is quite a list of options available.
Folder Menu can be found here. I highly recommend it.
