In my previous post I went through the procedure for installing Raewyn’s copy of eProductivity. It all went very smoothly and my next post, this one, was going to be on her first day with it.

Something happened today though that I can imagine might worry someone if they were not particularly computer, and especially Lotus Notes, literate. So I thought I’d quickly document it so you don’t fall into the same trap.
This morning when Raewyn opened up Lotus Notes she enquired, “Now how do I get into that thing again?” I indicated she could either double click the database on her workspace, or use the small button in the bookmark ribbon on the left hand side.
Raewyn used the book mark and her email opened up. It had the eProductivity additional buttons on the top but it was missing the contexts on the left hand side, replace by email folders… Awwk! Panic stations! “Do you mean all that work I did yesterday is lost?” she cried.
What had happened was that after I loaded the eProductivity template I needed to delete the old mail bookmark and replace with the new. Deletion was simply a case of right click in the bookmark itself and select “Remove Bookmark”. Adding the correct bookmark is a case of dragging the database from workspace onto the bookmark ribbon (hold left mouse button down, drag and then release button).
All things back to normal… Panic averted.

Hi Paul,
Thanks a LOT for pointing this out. I’m very experienced in Notes, but was scratching my head as to why my GTD was often opening up without the Navigator. I’m guessing that a lot of people still use the Workspace, so most people don’t have this problem. But as time goes on, more people are going to be clicking on bookmarks, so this will probably be an important point for a fair number of people.
