I asked for your help to put together my “Elevator Pitch” which I would then incorporate into an “About” page. Thanks for your help on this!
Here’s what my new about page now has on it (you’ll have to go to the actual page to see my picture though). The elevator pitch part is under the heading, “Why Simply Productive?”
Welcome to Simply Productive – a blog that helps you become more productive and a better leader.
My name is Paul Gardner and I have a passion for leadership. I and my wife Raewyn are the pastors of a medium sized church in Wellington, New Zealand.
My Passion
I love what I do and it’s great that I can see the results of any improvements I make in my leadership, but one thing I’ve learned since becoming a pastor is that leadership of a basically volunteer, non-profit organisation is not for the fainthearted.
One of the hardest things I’ve found in a role like mine is that people expect you to be everything to everybody. The introduction of "Getting Things Done" (GTD) into my life has allowed me to concentrate my limited time on the things that are actually important.
Why Simply Productive?
This site is about helping you become more productive and a better leader.
I always feel it’s such a waste when people with incredible potential get bogged down doing stuff they simply shouldn’t be doing. So my posts on this site are predominantly about exploring ways to avoid this and to help people “lead” to their full potential.
At the same time, I’ll become a better leader as others share their thoughts in the conversations I start.

Love the “Elevator pitch”. I’m doing the 31 day project too and coming up with mine was hard!

Paul,
I could not agree with you more about it being “such a waste when people with incredible potential get bogged down doing stuff they simply shouldn’t be doing.” I see that every day where I work, and I’ve made it my personal mission to coach these people on making better use of their time. The GTD method personalized is a great tool to help busy people make better use of their time.
I enjoy your blog and have added a link to it from my site and am sure I will link to it in future posts. Great work and keep it up!!
