This is the first in a three part series for people who want to be better at something. The first topic is relationships, then we’ll get to leadership and productivity.
On Sunday in church a really hot preacher, (my gorgeous wife!), pointed out that whatever it is that’s inside us is what we then show in our own lives.
In the context of Christianity, this means that to show pure love, we need to actually have Christ living in our hearts.
I have a few thoughts and observations on this:
-
This must mean there’s a whole lot of “Christians” out there who don’t really have Christ.
You know the ones I mean, those who are first to yell “Gays are going to hell!” but the last to offer them friendship and love.
I’m pretty sure Jesus Christ would be at their parties and have dinner with them and show them the love and respect they deserve as God’s created people.
-
This also must be what’s happening when we see those awful cases of murder, (and worse), when we see the Mother or Father of the victim show love and forgiveness to the perpetrator of the crime.
I struggle to see how anyone could do this in their own strength.

How does this principle of “What goes in is what comes out” apply in areas of our lives other than relationships and spirituality?
In my next two posts I will explore this principle as it applies to leadership and to productivity. I hope you’ll join me.
